Cabbage Peas Curry is a simple curry that you can make quickly as an accompaniment for Sambar Rice or Curd Rice. You can make it with coconut or without it (as I did).

Grated Coconut
(Optional; I did not use any)

For Tempering

Rai or Mustard Seeds

Udad Dal or Husked Black Gram
2 or 3
Green Chillies
A Few Curry Leaves
Salt to Taste
Instructions
Chop the cabbage into 1/4" pieces.
In a wide pan or kadai, heat the oil.
Add mustard seeds and wait till they pop.
Add udad dal and stir-fry till it turns golden brown.
Add curry leaves and slit green chillies, and stir-fry for a few seconds.
Add the cabbage, peas, 1/3 cup water, and a little salt.
Mix well.
Cook covered till the cabbage is cooked and translucent.
Mix at regular intervals.
Turn off the heat.
If you are using coconut, add it now, and mix well.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Serve as a side to Sambar Rice or Curd Rice.
