Instructions
The Preparation
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
Line a 9" x 4" loaf tin with a parchment paper.
Making the Dough
Mash the banana well to ensure there are no lumps.
Mix the peanut butter and mashed banana well.
Add the peanut butter-banana mix to oats.
Add 1.5 tbsp chocolate chips and molasses or honey and mix well.
Baking the Oats Banana Energy Bars
Transfer the dough into the lined tin and use a spatula to form an even 1" layer.
Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on the surface.
Bake for 15 minutes.
The Final Steps
After 15 minutes, remove the loaf tin and leave it to cool.
Gently lift the parchment paper and transfer the loaf onto a flat tray or plate.
Using a sharp knife, cut into 8 equal-sized squares.
Storing Instructions
Store in an airtight tin.
If you want to use them over a long period, freeze the Oats Banana Energy Bars. Warm in a microwave before eating.
Notes
My peanut butter was also sugarless so I added 1 tbsp molasses. You can skip this step and the bars are still delicious.
