Varalakshmi Vratam: Recipes for Naivedyam

Varalakshmi Vratam is on August 24, 2018. It always falls on the Friday before Sravan Poornima. (An easy way to remember is the Friday before Raksha Bandhan. 🙂 ). This Pooja, also called Vara Mahalakshmi Vratam, is performed by married women in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu to pray for the well-being of their families. Performing the Varalakshmi Vratam is said to be equivalent to worshiping Ashtalakshmi.
