Papad Churi Chaat is an easy to make recipe snack recipe. Just crush some roasted papad, toss in finely chopped tomatoes and onions, and then add some salt, chaat masala, chilli powder, and lemon juice. Voila! you have a delicious Papad Chat in no time.
In the middle of all the Navratri meals, I was feeling the urge to eat some chaat, but was too lazy to venture out to get some ingredients I needed to make Bhel. I had some great pepper-laden papads at home and I used them to make this scrumptious Papad Churi Chaat.
By using different flavours of papads (or even a mix of them), you can create new flavours very easily.
Some Things That Help Make a Delicious Papad Churi Chaat
- As with all chaats, make Papad Chat just before you are ready to eat it, otherwise the papad pieces will become soggy.
- Vary the spices with the type of papad you are using. For example, if you are using plain udad dal papad or one with garlic, you can use more chilli powder than I did and add some pepper powder as well.
I used a papad that was laden with black pepper (double-miri papad, as it is called) and so I used just a touch of chilli powder and no pepper powder. - You can serve this Chaat pre-mixed or then provide all ingredients separately and let people make their own mix.
